The Modern Little Mermaid

A series I was going to do but I've only done one so far.

The idea was to take fairy tales and put phrases I've heard and apply them to the characters. Like the little mermaid here. In the original every step she took felt like walking on knives. I took that and applied it to this idea that if you are working you should be on your feet. Even if the job has moments that you could sit to complete a task, or you have nothing to do at that exact moment you better not even lean against something to relieve some pressure off your feet. I've had days I've felt like I'm walking on glass, and I would shift and lean as best I could to alleviate the pain and have gotten in trouble for leaning even if I am working.

So yeah I kinda imagined the poor mermaid stuck working a waitressing job or something, where she is never allowed to sit or rest her poor feet.
