Inspired by some things I heard online. And for this [link] A women can be beautiful, and sexy without being reduced to an object. This idea that there is a single standard for beauty is absurd, what may be to my tastes is not for everyone and just because everyone in the world doesn't lust after me does not mean I am ugly.
Every single one of us have our own struggles, weaknesses, strengths and flaws and as far as I am concerned we are all hero/heroins in our own story. Just because I don't race into a burning building does not mean I am not 'super' in my own way.
My superhero is a typical women who is not perfect, but holds her head up high and enjoys what she wants no matter what the world may have to say about that.
So basically I'm convinced all my friends are pretty "super."
I think this is really good, actually. I was admittedly a little puzzled at first because she is not, as someone pointed out, plus-sized, but it's really cool to have an entry -- even to have a character -- who is simply "athletic" if not supermodel-skinny. This character's build is actually similar to my own original character in that according to most superhero artists her breasts would be too small and her waist too...well, proportional.
The contest isn't limited to 'plus' size, but what would be called a 'fat' hero. A normal woman or even a 'real' athletic build is 'fat' by comic standards.
