Description

The real point of the pic is the story/idea below:

Monica had always been sensitive. Ever since she had been a kid she had experienced what could only be called visions. She was always prepared for pop quizzes, could often judge people in a single glance and had “seen” when her now ex-boyfriends had cheated on her. Now in college Monica had learned to trust her feelings and guts and had found friends who believed in her. Not to mention a great guy.
On a weekend her boyfriend and friends planned a weekend away skiing. Monica gladly went along without any foreboding feelings until she caught sight of someone. A man who looked to be not much older than her, but had a timeless feeling about him. Throughout the day she kept catching sight of him, and the only thing she felt from him was an infinite cold, and nothing else.
That was when she had the most vivid vision she ever had. She saw her friends and boyfriend get killed horribly in a freak accident. Monica was able to create such a scene that nobody went near where the accident was supposed to occur. Her friends stood back and watched as the accident occurred exactly as she said, except nobody was hurt. Her friends praised her vision, and they cut their trip short. On the way back Monica’s boyfriend proposed to her.
Monica thought she had lucked out and was feeling thankful for her gift, until she saw the man again. She started to have more visions of her friends dying in various ways. First small, like one friend nearly eating food contaminated with seafood and they having a deadly allergy and she is able to save them. But the deaths in her visions get bigger and harder to stop. All through this she keeps seeing this man who always seems to be there when something bad is about to happen.
She starts to go mad with fear and the fact she keeps seeing her friends die over and over. Trying to gain her wits she goes to visit her grandmother in the hospital hoping she will have answers. When she gets there she finds out her grandmother passed away moments ago, and that is when she sees HIM. The man that has been at every turn and every close call with her friends. She freaks outs and tries to attack him yelling and screaming. Everyone in the hospital thinks she is just having a breakdown, unable to see the man she is yelling at.
The man reveals he is death, and though his job is to make sure people die when they are supposed to he often “spices it up a bit” by creating what he called a beautiful masterpiece of death and art. He blames her and her gift for ruining his work of art, and tells her that her friends time has run out and that he will win in the end.
Monica tries to warn her friends but instead runs into her ex-boyfriend. He acts strange, and keeps saying he has to save her, but Monica just yells at him and leaves him. She gathers her friends together and locks them in a warehouse saying she is trying to protect them. She leaves to get food and provisions, but she has a vision at the story. Instead of seeing their death though, Death steps in the way in her vision and tells her “you will not ruin the beauty of this moment” she freaks out in the grocery store, and starts screaming. She is able to calm down enough to head to her car and calls 911 on her cell saying something bad is going to happen and gives the address of the ware house.
She gets there and the lock is broken. Inside her friends are all dead, brutally murdered. She then sees her fiancé’ and she runs to him. He slumps over a knife in his back into her arms. She screams, and is suddenly in a bed.
She sighs relieved, thinking it was another vision until she looks around herself. She is in small white room with bars in the window. She gets up and finds the door locked out side she hears voices. As they talk she remembers what happened.
“The poor dear.”
“Why did she lock her friends in that warehouse in the first place?”
“Nobody knows, but when her disturbed ex-boyfriend found them instead of her, well I heard the place still reeks of blood.”
“I bet the guilt drove her mad. Finding them like that and knowing he was only after her.”
She starts to scream “no no no no!!!!” The nurses come in and try to calm her down.
Death appears before her.
She yells at him fighting the nurses “Go on! Kill me! That is what you wanted right. For all of us to die!?”
Death smirks. “Now my dear, I gave you more credit than that. When in any of your visions did you ever die?”
Monica is shocked into silence.
Death continues “Your friends time ran out, yours on the other hand won’t for a very long time. Not that it truly matters, since you will be here for a very very long time.”
Monica mouths the word “no” Than gaining her breath, screamed once more .
The end

I’m not a huge horror movie fan, but some ideas presented in these movies are interesting. This particular idea was inspired by the idea of Final Destination. Not a fan of the actual movies, but the idea of outwitting death only to have it come after you is interesting. The question though becomes why, and in this (bare, just the jest) story/idea death is literally coming after these people. They aren’t jerks who we’d want to see get offed, and the vision isn’t a one-time deal that only was there to screw with the people who cheated death. Death is immortal and his job is to make sure people die when they need to, to keep the balance but after eons of his job he has come to consider death a form of art and horrible disasters are works of art. He is pissed off that Monica ruined his quota and his work of art. In the end after she continues to foil his plans over and over he whispers into her ex-boyfriend’s ear and sets him off (the ex was already on a thin robe before death came along). Causing the ex to finally snap. In the end death probably enjoyed “playing” with Monica since so few people can actually see him. It was probably nice to have someone to play off of.

A bit of a horror story, and not something I normally do, but I dunno the story suddenly struck me and has been bugging me since.
